Enjoy a masterclass in wine from various regions in France, from Stefan Griffiths of Lay & Wheeler.

Even as the wine world grows larger and more varied each year, there is still one country that always comes to mind first and foremost when anyone mentions a bottle of the good stuff – France. Partly due to history and experience, but mostly because of the fantastic range of regions and styles that this single country excels at producing. This evening we will look at six wines from five different regions, tasting some of the most famous producers from the most celebrated regions that have occupied the epicentre of the fine wine world for centuries.

Steffan Griffiths
Having studied Classics at the University of Durham, Steffan joined Berry Bros & Rudd where he organised and hosted events for private and corporate customers. He then worked at English wine producer Nyetimber as their Brand Ambassador, before joining Lay & Wheeler in September 2020. Steffan has held the WSET Diploma since 2017. Born into a world of wine, he grew up visiting vineyards at an age where he was unable to take full advantage of their produce, which is thankfully no longer an issue. A keen traveller and lover of the arts, Steffan’s wine tastes lean fairly classical but he has a particular soft spot for great South African wines.
