Revels is a comedy sketch and song show performed by members of the Inn in Middle Temple Hall during Christmas time, comprised of original material and accompanied by a live band.

Revels has a long history going back at least 400 years. It has changed shape over time, but it has always retained the tradition of being a little rebellious.

Auditions 2023:

From 18:30 on Tuesday 26 September in the upstairs room of the Devereux Pub (in Devereux Court, just outside the Inn).

We ask that if anyone is keen to audition, that they let us know by emailing middletemplerevels@gmail.com so that we can plan accordingly depending on the number of auditionees. Other than that, there is nothing to prepare, we will provide scripts on the day and there is no need to learn lines, just turn up! Auditions are open to any and all Middle Temple members, and not limited to new students, but as the bi-weekly rehearsals will all be in London, we do require people to be able to attend these. 

Commitments for 2023 are:

• Twice weekly evening rehearsals (every Tuesday and Thursday) from the beginning of October through to December as we create the show from scratch;
• Two All-Day rehearsals in December (Sunday the 3rd and 10th) which are mandatory;
• Dress Rehearsals on Monday 11th which are also mandatory;
• Two show nights in December (Thursday 14th and Friday 15th)

We want to reassure you that the majority of Revellers have done the show alongside their studies, pupillage and tenancy. We know that Middle Templars are a talented bunch! So we see this is a chance for you to show off your skills and have some fun.
