Race Report Survey 2024

25 Apr 2024

The Bar Council’s Race at the Bar Report 2024 survey will be launched on Wednesday 8 May. The link will be available once the survey is live.

The Bar Council’s Race Panel committed to review progress on race equality at the Bar three years after the 2021 Race Report was first published. In 2022, a follow-up survey was issued to understand what action was being taken and 69 chambers and Bar-based organisations and circuits took part. The progress report can be viewed here.

People are encouraged to participate in the 2024 survey in order to demonstrate progress and highlight work underway across the Bar.

The survey will take approximately five minutes to complete. The majority of questions are tick box, as well as a limited number of open text questions. The results will help to reveal where chambers, Bar-based organisations and circuits have had success and any challenges they have faced.

Participating organisations will be listed in the report, and it is important your organisation is on the list to demonstrate your commitment.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in online or in person focus groups on 17 and 21 May. For more information, please email equality@barcouncil.org.uk.
