Academic Fellowship
To help foster a closer relationship between the practising Bar and academia, Middle Temple is looking to grant Fellowship to Academics who meet the following criteria:
Middle Temple LGBTQ+ Commitments
Middle Temple is proud to support its LGBTQ+ community. The Inn’s commitments apply to its students, Hall members, Benchers, staff and guests when involved in activities organised by the Inn (excluding Temple Church, which is a separate legal entity).
So far as we are able, we aim to maintain these commitments while working overseas.
Middle Temple endeavours to make the Inn and as many of its buildings, facilities, services and publications as accessible and as inclusive as possible for all of its guests and members.
Building Access
The Middle Temple has been engaged in a programme of works for a number of years intended to provide step free access into and around our buildings thereby making them accessible to all.
Hall – There is an external lift adjacent to the main entrance which gives full access
We are very glad that you are seriously thinking of pursuing a career at the Bar. However, you must think carefully about whether you have the potential to make a successful career as a barrister. A career at the Bar is very demanding, requiring high standards.
The Bar can offer an extremely rewarding career if you
Emergency Assistance Fund
The Middle Temple is aware that many of its members will be in financial difficulties as a result of the current public health crisis and will do what it can to help alleviate hardship. In these exceptional circumstances, the Inn has created The Emergency Assistance Fund, which is larger than the usual pupil support and hardship fund and available to a larger category of applicants.
ACCESS INTO AND AROUND THE INN
The Middle Temple estate rises steadily from The Victoria Embankment northwards to Fleet Street/Strand. The incline, along the length of Middle Temple Lane, is not severe. The Lane gives access to all parts of the Inn save for 1 & 2 Garden Court.
These buildings can only be reached using the stairs adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Building (QEB) or those from Fountain Court. This is an issue which we are seeking to resolve in 2018/19.
