Bio:

Graeme Mew was called in 1982. He qualified at the Ontario Bar in 1987 and practised as an advocate focussing on professional liability, insurance and cross-border litigation until his appointment to the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario) in 2013. He also developed a parallel practice as a mediator and arbitrator in Canada, the UK and internationally. He was a panel member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), serving on the ad hoc panels of the CAS at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010 and the London Olympics in 2012, for Sport Resolutions (UK), and for the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. He is a member of the Judicial Panel of World Rugby, having adjudicated at four Rugby World Cups. He is the author of the Law of Limitations, now in its fourth edition, and a contributor to Halsbury’s Laws of Canada. He was President of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association from 2005-7 and was elected Regional Vice-President (Atlantic and Mediterranean) of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association in 2022. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he was a partner with the Toronto office of Clyde & Co and a non-resident member of chambers at Four New Square
