Masters of the Bench

Former Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association and recently elected Head of Chambers at 18 Red Lion Court, Max was Called in 1987 and took Silk in 2008.  He is a former Junior of the Essex Bar Mess and of the South-Eastern Circuit.  He was also Recorder of the Circuit.  He specialises in cases involving terrorism and Control Order and related public law work for the Treasury Solicitor.  He was counsel for the Metropolitan Police in the July 7 “London Bombings” Inquests.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Patron of a children’s charity, SceneandHeard which partners inner-city children with volunteer theatre professionals who mentor them.
