Event Details

The talk will take place in the Sherrard room, followed by a reception in Middle Temple Garden.

This inclusive and celebratory event will focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion at the Bar for those who identify as LGBTQ+.  Allies are welcome.  There will be a panel discussion, with several speakers from groups within the forum including Trans and non-Binary, who will share their experiences of joining the profession, their practices, and of participating in life in the Inn. It is an opportunity to learn about the progress they feel has been made and/or the work left to be done. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

This LGBTQ+ Forum event is open to Middle Temple Members and their guests as well as members of other Inns of Court, though guests are restricted to members only.

Learning Outcomes:

After this session, students should be able to:

  • Identify the challenges that have – and still – face Trans and non-binary members of the Bar
  • Recognise the progress that has been made and the work left to be completed as contributing members of the profession to ensure that the Bar is diverse and inclusive

Bookings and Cancellations

Members of the Inn can book tickets online by clicking ‘Add to Cart’.  Please note that you must log in to book (if you have not yet created a log-in please register first). Alternatively you can buy tickets from the Treasury Office by calling 020 7427 4800.

Members of other Inns, BLAGG and FreeBar can book tickets by emailing members@middletemple.org.uk or telephoning 020 7427 4800.

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 12:00 two working days before the event.  

Cancellations:

Where we have a waiting list we will offer your ticket to someone else, so please do cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend by contacting 020 7427 6385 or email members@middletemple.org.uk
