Event Details

The Middle Temple Midland Circuit Society would like to invite you to their annual dinner at the Hotel du Vin, Birmingham.


Students and transferring lawyers need to attend the lecture before dinner in order to claim a Qualifying Session. Members and Guests are of course most welcome to attend too.

Tom Lawal, an experienced and highly regarded private children and housing law barrister, and Deputy District Judge, will be providing the lecture. Tom will provide hints and tips on how to secure pupillage, covering all aspects from the application process to interview stage. Following the talk there will be a short Q&A during which students will have the opportunity to ask any questions. Students will leave the session with further knowledge on how the pupillage application process operates and feeling better prepared for the next stage in their career.

Please note that the Qualifying Session will take place at St Ives Chambers, which is a short distance from the Hotel du Vin. The full address is as follows - St Ives Chambers, 1-3 Whittall St, Birmingham B4 6DH.

After this session, students should be able to:

  • Identify the different stages of the pupillage application process.
  • Recognise what chambers look for in successful candidates and how to present these criteria within their application.

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 09:00 two working days before the event
