Event Details

This event is taking place in Sherrard Room AND will be streamed live. This page is for tickets to attend in person. For online tickets CLICK HERE. 

The Chief Magistrate, Senior District Judge Goldspring will speak on Advocacy in the Magistrates court. The stakes are not as high, but the advocacy should be, the do’s and do nots of Advocacy in the Magistrates court.


Students and transferring lawyers need to attend the whole event including the reception in order to claim a Qualifying Session.

This event is open to all members of the Inn. No guests.

Learning Outcomes:

After this session, students should be able to:

  • Describe how the Magistrates court operates
  • Examine the differences in the Advocacy required in the Magistrates court in comparison to the Crown court 
  • Formulate an understanding of the do’s and do not’s in the Magistrates court

Unless the event sells out earlier, bookings will close at 09:00 two working days before the event.

Cancellations:

Where we have a waiting list we will offer your ticket to someone else, so please do cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend by emailing education@middletemple.org.uk
