Event Details

Only open to those students who are currently studying the Bar Course 2021/22 at an institution outside of London.

Please note that bookings are open at full capacity and social distancing will no longer be in place.

This events will consist of a programme of talks in the afternoon. 

You may also be interested in booking a ticket for the Ordinary Dining in the evening (subject to availability - a separate ticket must be booked) to obtain an additional QS during your trip to London.


We're excited to welcome our Out of London students to the Inn and have two great talks lined up from senior members of the Inn.

Master Harlow (Prof Carol Harlow QC FBA, Emeritus Professor of Law at LSE) will be asking "Why study Public Law?" drawing from her years of teaching administrative and public law and why it is crucial area of law for those seeking a career at the Bar.

Master Etherington (David QC, Lent Reader), will discuss the "The Purpose of Advocacy and Ethics?" and how to utilise both in your journey to the Bar and beyond. He will discuss both in relation to his 35 years' of  experience in criminal and regulatory law. Master Etherington practises out of Red Lion Chambers.

No lunch will be provided but tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during a break between both talks.

Only open to Student Members who are currently studying the Bar Course 2021/22 at an institution Outside of London (OOL).

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at the end of the day before the event.  

Cancellations:

Where we have a waiting list we will offer your ticket to someone else, so please do cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend by emailing education@middletemple.org.uk
