Event Details

The purpose of this event is to practice our debating prior to, and assist with selection for, the Inter-Inn Debating Competition on 25 June and 2 July.

The debaters will be put in pairs, given a motion and will have 15 minutes to prepare for the debate with their partner. Once the preperation time is up, the debaters will go to their assigned rooms (either the Sherrard Room or the Whitfield Room, within the Rutledge Suite). After the debate, the judges will provide feedback, followed by a reception to give everyone a chance to discuss the debates further and to network!

Preparation - Participants must be familiar with the basics of the British Parliamentary style debating ahead of the session.

By booking onto this event, you are entering yourself to participate in a debate.  There are no spectator tickets. Only book if you are committed to fully participate on the day.

Any queries should be sent via email to debating-officer@middletemplestudents.com

Student members (including transferring lawyers) must attend all elements of the event in order to be awarded the Qualifying Session. This includes any lecture/talk/moot/reception/dinner/speeches.
