Event Details

Join Master Treasurer and the Master of Music for an evening of live Jazz in Middle Temple Hall.

Inspired by the iconic atmosphere of Ronnie Scott's, this special event will feature live music from L’Estranges in the Night. Gather friends and colleagues for a relaxed evening of classic jazz favourites and timeless tunes, brought to life by this talented ensemble.

Enjoy delicious bowl food throughout the evening, with a cash bar available serving a selection of drinks. Whether you're a dedicated jazz enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable night out, this promises to be an evening of exceptional music, great conversation and a vibrant atmosphere.

About the Artists

Joanna Forbes L’Estrange (vocalist, formerly with The Swingle Singers) and Alexander L’Estrange (jazz pianist and double bassist) celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year, proof that music really is the food of love! Having met as music undergraduates at Oxford University, playing side by side in the cello section of the orchestra, they formed their jazz duo to gain free entry to Merton College Ball and have been performing together as L’Estranges in the Night ever since.

Whether at Ronnie Scott’s or Pizza Express Jazz Club or further afield in New York’s Carnegie Hall or the Red Sea Jazz Festival, this talented couple delights audiences with a mix of jazz standards and their own original jazz songs, including “You Are” which Joanna wrote for the hit TV series Fleabag.

For their appearance at Middle Temple Hall this November they will be joined by wunderkind jazz pianist Harry L’Estrange, the world-renowned jazz trumpeter Mark Armstrong and the phenomenally talented Felix Higginbottom on drums. Come, feast your ears!
