Accessibility

The Middle Temple estate rises from Victoria Embankment towards Fleet Street/Strand. The incline, along the length of Middle Temple Lane, is not severe and gives access to all parts of the Inn save for 1 & 2 Garden Court. These buildings can only be reached by going up or down steps – an issue which we are seeking to address in the coming years.

The Inn endeavours to ensure that anyone visiting, for whatever reason, can do so as safely as possible. This includes those with disabilities for whom special arrangement may need to be made. We address this issue by asking intending visitors to complete and return to their event organiser before the date of the visit, a PEEP (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) form.

Whilst this may be a slight inconvenience, once we receive from the event organiser copies of completed forms, we seek to put in place arrangements which should protect visitors with disabilities in cases of emergency. Many visitors to the Inn have warmly welcomed this process and thank us for the special consideration shown to them.

The Inn wishes to be as fully inclusive as possible to all visitors but for practical/logistical reasons regrettably reserves the right to advise an event organiser or visitor that access into one or more of our buildings will not be possible.

For further information on access to the Inn for those with impaired mobility please contact the Estates Officer, Richard Simpson: r.simpson@middletemple.org.uk or telephone the Estates Office on 020 7427 4840.
