We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Justice is now welcoming nominations for the 2025/26 Honorary King’s Counsel awards.
These awards recognise individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the law of England and Wales or to the legal profession. We are especially keen to see nominations that reflect the broad diversity of experience and background across the legal community.
The Lord Chancellor and Minister Sackman have both marked the launch of this year’s nomination round.
We would be grateful for your support in promoting the awards by sharing this announcement with your members and wider networks. If you would like to include information on your website or in a newsletter, or if you have other suggestions for publicising the awards, please do let us know — we would be happy to support.
We also encourage you to post about the awards on your community pages and other communication channels, as you feel appropriate.
We would be glad to arrange an online webinar on the overview of the nomination process and guidance on submitting a strong application. If this is something your members or network would find helpful, please contact us at HonoraryKC@justice.gov.uk to express your interest.
Full details of the Honorary KC nomination process, including the nomination form and guidance, can be found on GOV.UK:
