Judges, senior jurists and other Benchers celebrated the beginning of Bernard Richmond KC’s term as Master Treasurer with a reception at Middle Temple last night. Unusually, it was held in the library while Hall’s roof undergoes its ten-yearly “check-up”. As Master Richmond (for those who don’t know - an eminent criminal defence barrister) pointed out in his thank you speech, he’d never seen so many judges smiling at him!
