THE TEMPLE CHURCH: SPECIAL SERVICES AND CONCERTS, HIGH SUMMER 2026
The services listed below are part of our regular pattern of choral services: Choral Mattins or Communion, Sundays at 11.115am; Choral Evensong, Wednesdays normally at 6.00pm. We look forward to seeing you.
All our services are live-streamed, www.templechurch.com, home page; and remain available for 48 hours.

Thursday 25 June, 6.00-7.00pm
CONCERT: SONGS OF THE BRITISH ISLES
Temple Singers, Temple Church Choristers, Temple City Singers, and children from local schools. This concert will centre around Michael Tippett’s ‘Four Songs from the British Isles’ alongside folksong  arrangements by Benjamin Britten.   This concert is kindly supported by The Michael Tippett Musical Foundation.

Sung by the Temple Church Youth Choir


Sunday 28 June, 11.15am
CHORAL COMMUNION
The Temple City Singers, our new junior choir, join with the Temple Church Choir to sing Communion, with music by Haydn and Rutter. This will be first performance by TCS in a service here at the church.

A short concert by the 2025-26 choral scholars to round off their outstanding year with us.

CONCERT: SPEM IN ALIUM – THE 40 VOICE SPECTACULAR
Temple Singers, Thomas Allery, conductor
Music to include: Celia Virgo (Gabriel Jackson),  Hymn to the Mother of God (Tavener), and Tallis’ 40-part masterpiece Spem in Alium

CHORAL EVENSONG
In Honour of the late Lady Helen Delves Broughton.
Tribute: Lord Mance
Helen, a trail-blazer for women at the post-War Bar, was admitted to Inner Temple on her 18th birthday (the first permissible day) and was called to the Bar by Inner in 1951.  She was a loyal friend of the Inn and of the Church well into her 90s.


Wednesday 15 July, 6.00-6.45pm
CHORAL EVENSONG
Music to include: World premiere: The Temple Church Service (Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis) by Martin Baker, former Director of Music at Westminster Cathedral, commissioned by our Choir to mark Robin’s retirement.
This evening will be our opportunity to offer an undistracted Thank You to our choristers for all their hard work and immense musicality through the year.

A special service as we bid farewell and happy retirement to Robin, The Reverend and Valiant Master of the Temple since 1999.
Followed by drinks and jazz in Church Court.
