Bio:

Winston graduated from the Laws Faculty of University College London in 1960 and qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong in 1964, and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1968.  He was the Founding Partner and later the Senior Consultant of Messrs. Winston Chu & Company.

 

He is a Justice of the Peace, an Honorary Lecturer of the Faculty of Laws of The University of Hong Kong and a Visiting Professor and Fellow of University College London.

 

In 2004 he was voted Legal Personality of the Year by the Asian Legal Business Awards.

 
 

He was the Founder and Chairman of the Society for Protection of the Harbour which between 1995 and 2010 conducted a successful campaign to stop the Government’s plans for extensive reclamation which would have reduced Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour into a narrow channel.
