Bio:

Rt Hon James Wolffe KC FRSE was Dean of the Faculty of Advocates in Scotland 2014-16, and Lord Advocate 2016-21. He currently serves as a Judge of the Courts of Appeal of Guernsey and Jersey and a Chair of the Competition Appeal Tribunal. James was admitted as an advocate in Scotland in 1992 and took silk in 2007. He was First Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Government 2002-7 and an Advocate Depute (senior prosecutor) 2007-2010. He was elected Vice-dean of Faculty in 2013, and as Dean in 2014. In 2016 he was appointed Lord Advocate, holding that office until 2021. James was called to the English bar by Middle Temple in 2013. He practises as a member of Axiom Advocates, Edinburgh and as a door tenant of Brick Court Chambers, London.
