Bio:

Alexia was called to the Bar in 1995 and practiced in criminal law for 19 years in chambers in London. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2009 and a Circuit Judge in 2014.  She was also appointed to sit in the First Tier Tribunal in the Mental Health Tribunal for 6 years.  As a Circuit judge she sat at Kingston, Reading and Guildford Crown court.  In 2019 she was appointed one of the first two Deputy Chief Coroners of England and Wales.  In 2021 she was appointed to sit at the Central Criminal Court as a Senior Circuit Judge.  In 2024 she was appointed as the Chief Coroner of England and Wales. She is a tutor judge with the Judicial College.  She is on the editorial board for the judicial primer on Forensic Anthropology.
