Bio:

Gillian Guzman KC has over 30 years' experience in litigation and advocacy across every level of the Gibraltar courts. Called to the Bar in 1994, she made history in 2012 as Gibraltar's first and only female King's Counsel and the youngest person to take Silk in the territory. In 2005, she became the first female Partner in Hassans' Litigation Department and was appointed Chair of the Employment Tribunal. She qualified as an accredited mediator with ADR Chambers in 2008.

A recognised specialist in employment, discrimination, disability, and equalities law, Gillian advises and represents major employers, insurers, government departments, and public bodies. Since 1997, she has advised health, social care, and regulatory bodies on policy development and the drafting of legislation. Her clients also include prominent gaming companies, trade unions, and the Government of Gibraltar.

Gillian's broader practice spans personal injury, clinical negligence, human rights, and constitutional law. She has also developed a highly regarded care proceedings practice, acting as counsel to the Guardian ad Litem in complex child protection cases before the Supreme Court.
