Bio:

David Elvin KC attended Hertford College, Oxford. He has also been Called to the Bar of Northern Ireland. He is member of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland. David specialises in planning, environmental and public law. In 2001 he was appointed a Recorder, in 2008 a Deputy High Court Judge and in 2015 a judge of the Upper Tribunal (IAC). David is one of the general editors of the Encyclopaedia of Planning Law and Practice and co-author of Unlawful Interference with Land. Since 2009 he has been one of the Boundary Commissioners for England. Outside of the law, David is the Chairman of the Millennium Trust of St Pauls’ Church Covent Garden (the Actor’s Church), a member of the Choir of St Paul’s Church Covent Garden, a member of the Advisory Council of the RSCM and is restoring a listed farmhouse and barn on the North Downs in Kent.
