Bio:
Patrick practices from Henderson Chambers in varied fields. He read law at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and was previously an officer in the Royal Marines. He did a Stage in DG Competition at the EC Commission in 1992 and a Pegasus Scholarship in Bermuda and the USA in 1995. He became a CEDR Accredited Mediator in 1997 and co-founded the mediation and dispute avoidance organisation, ResoLex, in 2001. He was a Visiting Fellow at the LSE from 2005 to 2012. In 2016, he appeared in the Gina Miller Brexit case and in 2020, he won the Lawyer’s Barrister of the Year award for the Post Office case and two other cases in the Supreme Court on employee inventor compensation and investment treaty arbitration. When he was young, he grew up on a farm, planted trees and laid concrete, and worked as a lumberjack in France. He is a trustee of Kingfisher’s Bridge Nature Reserve, which over 30 years ago was converted from the farm he grew up on. He can almost play the piano.
