Bio:

Rhodri Thompson KC is a founder member of Matrix Chambers and chaired its Management Committee from 2004-2006 and 2014-2016.  He is recognised as a leading expert on competition law, EU law, commercial public law and economic regulation.  Rhodri is Hon Treasurer of the UK Association of European Law and was Chair of the Bar Council EU Law Committee from 2018 to 2020, during which time he was heavily involved in the preparations for UK withdrawal from the EU.  He has appeared for and against the major UK and EU regulators and government departments in many leading cases, including the first Gina Miller case concerning the process for UK withdrawal and the 2019 Rail Franchise Litigation.
