As one of the four Inns of Court, Middle Temple has the exclusive right to Call men and women to the Bar of England & Wales. We are professional membership organisation as well as a property landlord with a substantial property portfolio in central London. We hold numerous events and functions throughout the year and are home to an extensive law library and collection of historic archives and artefacts. We are also jointly responsible for the Temple Church, the former headquarters of the Knights Templar in England.
The Inn’s mission is to support the rule of law in the UK and overseas, especially Common Law jurisdictions, by providing extensive education opportunities and support to our members across the world and offering scholarships to intending practitioners to the Bar.
The Under Treasurer is accountable to the Treasurer and the Masters of the Bench for the direction, executive management and strategic development of the Inn, supported by the senior management team and staff. The Under Treasurer is principally responsible for ensuring a modern, professional, efficient and effective operation in accordance with best practice as well as the values and objectives of the Inn.

The Middle Temple has been engaged in a programme of works for a number of years intended to provide step free access into and around our buildings thereby making them accessible to all.

Tracing the Inn's relationship with the United States, looking at the role played by Middle Templars in colonising America and then fighting for (and against) its independence, twentieth century expressions of friendship and hospitality, and the first female Honorary Bencher.
Taking a look at the Balls given at the Inn from the early twentieth to the early twenty-first centuries - from waltzing in Hall on the eve of the First World War to the uproarious 'Glastonbury in a Tuxedo' events at the turn of the millennium.
