Middle Temple Survive and Thrive Programme: A Covid-19 Wellbeing Special - Resources

On 18 June 2020 Middle Temple held its first Survive and Thrive Covid-19 special - discussion and interactive Q&A with Rachel Spearing, Co-Founder of Wellbeing at the Bar, and Vicki Wilson, current Chair of Wellbeing at the Bar, sharing their experiences of the Covid-19 lockdown with tips for navigating the challenges.                                                                                    

The sessions finished with an informal discussion, where we were joined by Michael Harwood, who sits on the Bar Council’s Young Barristers and Wellbeing at the Bar Committees.

The main points of Discussion were:

  • Maintaining your professional ID in lockdown
  • Being ‘Zoomed Out’ – dealing with screen fatigue
  • Anxiety and Worry
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Loneliness and Isolation
  • Tech stress
  • Financial Pressure
  • Lockdown transition: remote working vs returning to court
