Middle Temple hosts The Attorney General of Qatar

Middle Temple was proud to welcome His Excellency Dr Ali bin Fettais Al-Marri, the Attorney General of Qatar, who came to lunch in Hall on Thursday 12 January 2017.

His Excellency was greeted by Master Treasurer, The Rt Hon Lord Dyson, in the Prince's Room accompanied by a delegation of Middle Temple Benchers, including Robert-Jan Temmink QC, Michael Blair QC and Michael Black QC, before going in to dine at the High Table in Hall during Lunch Service.

In addition to his role as Attorney General of Qatar, Dr Al-Marri is also the UN Special Advocate against Corruption (since 2014), UN Special Advocate on Stolen Asset Recovery (STAR) and President of the Arab Forum on Asset Recovery (since 2012).

The lunch was a part of Dr Al-Marri's visit to the UK in which he is seeking to strengthen the relationship between the UK and Qatar particularly for when the two cooperate in Arbitration.
