The Library is now closed until 15 June. During this time we are offering a free document delivery service from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, for any Inn of Court member. Requests must be made using our copyright declaration form:

Middle Temple Library is open to all members of the four Inns of Court. For those who are unable to access the library in person, we also offer a document delivery service. As it is a private library we are not open to the general public, but we do accept enquiries in special circumstances from non-members and academic researchers (by appointment only). We reserve the right to refuse entry and to charge non-members for access.

The Library holds approximately 250,000 volumes covering all aspects of British, European and American law. We have an enquiry service staffed by specialist legal librarians, who are able to help with enquiries made in person or by telephone or email.

Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 8.00 pm
Friday 9.00 am to 7.00 pm

The Library is open one Saturday out of four, on a rota with the other three Inn libraries. The Library is also closed for two weeks in August, and closes early on occasion for special events. The Saturday rota and early closings are available here.

August & September:

Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm

The Library is closed on bank holidays and for two weeks during August.

During Christmas the library will be closed from 20th December, 2pm until 6th January 2020.
