In this practical session, you will learn how to effectively research aspects of human rights law. We will look at accessing domestic human rights case law and legislation as well as human rights in an international context – including the European Court of Human Rights, the United Nations and the pan-African human rights regime.
Details of the preparation required in advance of this session will be published on the webpage once it is available, no more than one week before the session. When it is available, please ensure that you prepare in good time.
Who can Attend
This event is for members only. Whilst primarily aimed at Student members, there are a number of places available for Called members.
Qualifying Session Details
After this session, students should be able to:
- Identify sources of law related to human rights in national, foreign and international contexts.
- Demonstrate the ability to research aspects of human rights law using a variety of strategies and research techniques.
- Assess the authority of legal information as it relates to human rights law
Links to the Professional Statement, wider workings of the Bar, administration of justice or a public interest matter
The QS will align with these elements of the Professional Statement:

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 12:00 two working days before the event
