Event Details

An interactive session discussing equality and diversity issues that can arise in the course of pupillage and practice at the Bar and how to address them.  Some of the Inn’s leading discrimination practitioners and judges will guide participants through a number of discussion problems which should be prepared and researched in advance.

This workshop will be led by:

  • Master James Tayler
  • Eleena Misra
  • Katy Balmer

Preparation will be distributed before the Qualifying Session.

The Inn will be running this workshop on multiple occasions each year.  You are only permitted to attend this training once.  If you book this event having already attended a previous session your booking will be cancelled by the Education Department. If you book onto more than one of these sessions, all but one of your bookings will be cancelled by the Education Department.

Learning Outcomes:

After this session, students should be able to:

  • Recognise the core duties that are engaged in particular equality and diversity situations.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of when and how to challenge any lack of equal opportunity.
  • Analyse practical scenarios and formulate steps which promote equality and diversity .
