This session will review key sources of legal information for case law, legislation and commentary. In this session you will also learn effective search strategies and how to perform practical legal research quickly and thoroughly.

The Library runs this training session on multiple occasions each year.  You are only permitted to attend this training once.  If you book this event having already attended a previous session your booking will be cancelled by the Education Department. If you book onto more than one of these sessions, all but one of your bookings will be cancelled by the Education Department.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify legal research resources to enable them to carry out efficient, cost-effective and accurate legal research.
  2. Demonstrate an awareness of research strategies and when to apply them.
  3. Assess the authority and currency of information to use in their studies and in practice.
