Black TieEvent Details
With a champagne reception and black tie dinner, Private Guest Night is one of the Inn’s grander events. An opportunity to impress clients, clerks, and friends and family alike, members and students may invite guests from outside the Inn to dine in the finest Elizabethan Hall in England.
Benchers are encouraged to bring esteemed colleagues from other fields.
On this occasion, Masters of the Bench will remain in Hall after dinner due to Covid restrictions, and will not retire to the Parliament Chamber.
Please note this is an IN-PERSON event only
There are certain rules and customs that members and guests are expected to observe when attending formal Qualifying Sessions at the Inn.
Please note that all Middle Temple events are subject to cancellation, changes in format, and are dependent on pending government guidelines. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place. Please refer to our COVID-19 Safety Precautions in Place at the Inn page for further details.
Who can Attend
Students, Hall Members and Benchers: ONE GUEST maximum
Dietary Requirements
If you (or your guests) have any dietary requirements please ensure that you provide this information when you book tickets. If you did not do so, please inform the Inn no later than 12:00 two working days before the event. When seated in Hall please make a member of staff aware of these requirements so that they can serve you accordingly.
The Menu for this event*:
To start: Confit salmon, balsamic strawberry, beetroot, baby watercress
For main: Mustard crusted beef fillet, creamed celeriac purée, confit pink fir apple potato, butter braised shallot, red wine jus
For dessert: Dark chocolate torte, raspberry, toasted hazelnut

Please note this event is NOT a Qualifying Session.
Bookings and Cancellations
Where we have a waiting list we will offer your ticket to someone else, so please do cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend.
