Event Details: 

The focus of the Day will be on updating key skills for everyday practice at the Bar with opportunities to learn from senior lawyers and judges, join in the discussion & share ideas with colleagues and other barristers.  The topics of the day relate to the knowledge, skills and attributes set out in the BSB Professional Statement 

6 CPD hours

A full day of learning from judges and senior members of the Bar about being an effective advocate.  Speakers will share a wide range of insights about advocacy in the criminal, civil and family courts – and beyond.  Sessions will include:

•    Legal knowledge: To include a comprehensive update relevant to your area of practice 
•    Legal knowledge: An Advocacy focused masterclass 
•    Ethics: Forum: our experts give their views on knotty problems of professional conduct
•    Putting the client first: Client care and dealing with vulnerable clients
•    Practice Management

The keynote speaker will be Lord Justice Adrian Fulford. 

Suitable for criminal, civil and family practitioners at all levels of Call. Breakout sessions will be split according to these areas of law.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

  • Up to 7 years’ Call: £50
  • Over 7 years’ Call: £120
  • QC: £180
  • Pupil: £50

Booking Tickets:

Members of the Inn can buy tickets online by clicking ‘Add to Cart’.  Please note that you must log in to book (if you have not yet created a log-in please register first).

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 12:00 two working days before the event.  

Cancellations:

Hall Members & Non Members - To cancel a ticket please contact the Treasury Office on 020 7427 4800 or email education@middletemple.org.uk.  A refund will only be processed where a ticket is cancelled by 12:00 two working days before the event.

Masters of the Bench - are reminded that cancellations received after 17:00 on the day before the event will incur the full cost of the Event. To cancel please contact 020 7427 6385 or email benchers@middletemple.org.uk
