Coronavirus (COVID-19) 

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the Inn has regrettably decided to cancel the Treasurer's Lecture on 23 March 2020. We would like to apologise sincerely to you for the inconvenience, and disappointment as we take on the necessary measures to combat the Covid-19 virus.

The Inn will also be cancelling or postponing all other internal events including Qualifying Sessions until 15 June 2020.

The Inn will be issuing a full refund for all tickets.  There is no need to request a refund.  Please bear with us while we work through all the bookings.

Masters of the Bench: If you have charged your ticket to your Bench Bill then no charge shall be incurred. If you have paid in advance, the Inn will issue a refund.


Staff will be available to answer any queries that you may have by email or by telephone.

Lecture Title: Radical Courtrooms: the transforming power of the trial

After the lecture and subsequent Q & A, drinks and canapés are served in the Hall and Bench Apartments. 

According to the Rule of Three which is emphasised to students, particularly on lecture evenings, in the course of the evening you should speak to at least three people whom you had not known before.

Guests:

Student/Hall Members: Guests welcome, maximum three per member

Benchers: Guests welcome

Members of other Inns are also welcome to purchase tickets

Qualifying Session Details:

For Middle Temple students and transferring lawyers - this event counts as one Qualifying Session.  To be awarded the QS for this event you are required to arrive on time and attend all elements of this event (please see timings at the top of this page).  You must hand your ticket to the Front of House staff on duty on arrival at the Hall.  Failure to do so will mean that the QS will not be awarded. For Middle Temple Benchers - this event counts as a Qualifying Session for Commons.

CPD Details:

This event counts as 1 hour of CPD

A selection of canapes will be served after the lecture.  If you (or your guests) have any dietary requirements and are unsure about anything please speak to the events staff on duty.

Booking Tickets:

Members of the Inn can buy tickets online by clicking ‘Add to Cart’.  Please note that you must log in to book (if you have not yet created a log-in please register first).  Alternatively you can buy tickets from the Treasury Office in person or by telephoning 020 7427 4800.

Members of other Inns can buy tickets from the Treasury Office, in person or on 020 7427 4800.

Unless the event sells out earlier, booking will close at 16:00 on the day of the lecture.

Please note: You cannot book a ticket online for another member of the Inn if that member needs the Qualifying Session assigned to their record. They must log in and book their own ticket, or alternatively contact the Treasury Office.

Cancellations:

Student/Hall Members - To cancel a ticket please contact the Treasury Office on 020 7427 4800.  A refund will only be processed where a ticket is cancelled by 12:00 two working days before the event.

Masters of the Bench - are reminded that cancellations received after 17:00 on the day before the event will incur the full cost of the Event. To cancel please contact 020 7427 6385 or email benchers@middletemple.org.uk
