Nobody could have accurately predicted the speed at which technology is disrupting entire industries and forcing even the most traditional companies to digitally transform. The legal industry hasn’t yet shown signs of being disrupted by technology and, it could be argued, is resistant to technological change. Why is this?

Many of us already utilise the services and products of companies that have been borne out of technological disruption and could go so far as saying that we cannot imagine life without them. Uber, Airbnb and Amazon are just three examples of companies that have changed the way we travel, sleep and shop. So, if we’re comfortable with technological change on a personal level, are we simply afraid of the risk that technological disruption poses if adopted on a business level?

We need to realise that technological disruption can and will positively change how barristers and lawyers plan, work, win business and even adjust their work-life balance. During this panel event, we will look at:

  • The latest disruptive technological tools and platforms aimed at the legal community that are focused on improving organisation, time management, networking and wellbeing.
  • The technological disruption that has already started to impact the legal community and is now enabling the general public to assume the role of the lawyer.
  • The technology-enabled demands that will be placed on barristers by their clients in the future and how we can start to plan for these now.
