\n \nIn the first part of th e talk\, Master Reader (Eleanor Sharpston KC) will be focusing on the intellectual and personal tran sition from being a law student to being a young b arrister. Law students can expatiate on an interes ting problem without having to reach a concluded v iew. Practitioners need to nail their colours to t he mast\, examine all the peripheral issues that m ay make the difference between success and failure \, and impress their instructing solicitors with t heir efficiency and professionalism.
\n \nA fter a short break\, she and Kieron Beal KC (Black stone Chambers) will move on to the second part of the talk. Together they will highlight some of th e practical aspects of keeping your head above (re gulatory and commercial) water in your new incarna tion.
