James Wolffe KC is Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, the elected leader of the Scottish bar. James
was admitted as an advocate in Scotland in 1992 and took silk in 2007. He was First Standing Junior
Counsel to the Scottish Government 2002-7 and an Advocate Depute (senior prosecutor) 2007-2010.
He was elected Vice-dean of Faculty in 2013, and as Dean in 2014. His practice encompasses public
and commercial law. James was called to the English bar as a member of Middle Temple in 2013. He
practises as a member of Axiom Advocates, Edinburgh and as a door tenant of Brick Court Chambers,
London.
