Keble Award 2012
Application for an award to cover the cost of the Criminal Course at the South Eastern Circuit Advocacy Course at Keble College, Oxford
The Middle Temple invites applications for the funding of up to 5 places on the South Eastern Circuit Advanced International Advocacy Course at Keble College, Oxford (27 August – 1 September 2012).
To be eligible, an applicant must:
1. be a member or ad eundem member of the Middle Temple; if a successful applicant is not a member of the South Eastern Circuit, the award will include the fee for a one-year ad eundem membership of the South Eastern Circuit.
2. be currently in practice as a self-employed barrister, holding a practising certificate;
3. be a maximum of 5 years' Call;
4. have a practice which consists of publicly funded work in whole or substantial part;
5. have completed Pupillage and been in tenancy for no less than two years at the time of application;
6. have attended the NPP held by an Inn or Circuit;
7. provide a reference either from his/her Head of Chambers or from the Head of the
Criminal Group in his/her Chambers. A satisfactory reference, to be submitted together with the application form, is a condition for obtaining an award.
The attached form must be completed and returned, together with a reference, by 25 May 2012 (please note that this date has been changed from 20 April). If there are more applications than places, the selection may be made on the basis of the written applications.
