Pan-African Legal Conference 2009
Thirty-four Middle Temple members visited Mauritius from 19-26 September 2009 to participate in a Pan-African legal conference which the Inn had arranged in collaboration with the Mauritian judiciary and Bar, and the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute.
The conference was attended by over 200 delegates with strong representation from the judiciary and Bar in Mauritius and judges from the Seychelles, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, Kenya, India, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea.
Middle Temple Benchers prepared papers and gave talks on the following subjects:

After the delivery of each paper, members formed small groups and participated in discussion. Rapporteurs then provided feedback to specific questions in plenary sessions.
