Training the Trainers
The Inns' advocacy teaching is based on a particular formula which has proven very effective indeed, but takes a little time to get used to. To give practitioners who are interested in becoming advocacy trainers an opportunity to become familiar with the process, we ask them to attend a Training the Trainers session. |

We are looking for BVC students or, if there are enough places, for those who have recently completed the BVC, who are prepared to act as "guinea pigs", i.e. who volunteer to be taught by the new trainers.
This has always been run on weekends, the time table running approximately 9 am to 4.30 pm on the Saturday and 9.30 am to lunchtime on Sundays; that pattern is about to be changed. The new format is to be confirmed, but is likely, however, to continue to involve a Saturday.
The courses will count as 1 Qualifying Session, apart of course from some very useful advocacy training. There is no fee.
Having successfully completed the training, practitioners will be asked for assistance with the advocacy training from time to time; they will retain absolute control over how much or how little teaching they do in the course of a year. If you are interested in joining the Inn's team of advocacy trainers, please contact Stacey Brown or the Education Department.

BVC students can apply to be taught advocacy skills by the prospective new trainers. They will have to commit themselves for the whole of the programme which will earn them two qualifying sessions.
