Bio:

Alex is a BAFTA nominated actor, educated at St John’s School, Leatherhead, Durham University and Pembroke College, Cambridge.

He was called to the Bar in 1999 and completed his pupillage at 4 Breams Buildings and 11 Stone Buildings. He then practised briefly in commercial law before becoming an actor in 2002. He is best known for his role as Neil’s Dad in the Channel 4 comedy ‘The Inbetweeners’, and Julius Nicholson in the BBC’s ‘Thick Of It’.

Other credits include Julia Davis’s ‘Hunderby’ for Sky Atlantic, Shane Meadows’s ‘This Is England 88’, the BBC’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ and Charlie Brooker’s ‘Black Mirror’. He has also made a variety of guest appearance’s in shows that include, ‘Peep Show', ‘Miranda’, ‘Outnumbered’ and the ‘IT Crowd’.

He has starred opposite Michael Caine in Paulo Sorrentino’s ‘Youth’, Ian McKellen and Judy Dench in Kenneth Branagh’s ‘All Is True’, and Derek Jacobi and Kim Cattrall in ‘The Horrible Histories Movie’ franchise. He has been nominated for Best Actor at the Evening Standard Film Awards (for his role in Film 4’s ‘The Hide’) and Best Comedy Actor at the BAFTA’s (for his performance in the HBO series, ‘Sally4Ever’).

He currently lives in London.
